A successful final PROFIUS project meeting in Cuxhaven (Germany)
September 9-10 (2024), the PROFIUS partners were united in Cuxhaven for the final PROFIUS project meeting.
As for the meeting last year in Island, this meeting was also arranged as a hybrid meeting. We were 10 people from 4 of the 5 different project partners, who attended the meeting physically. One partner joined remotely as well as a few other people from the partners already present physically. The project meeting was hosted by Royal Greenland in their production facilities in Cuxhaven. In connection with the project meeting, we also visited Royal Greenland production facilities for the roe and shrimp and Royal Fresh Fish.
This was the final meeting ending and closing the three years of work within the PROFIUS project. It was a great pleasure to see all the achievements based on the work within logistic challenges, preservation, application of the side-streams from lumpfish and carcass as well as tuna side-streams.
We can see that PROFIUS have made the foundation, however, more hard work is needed to reach its potential for a 100% utilization of the lumpfish. The tuna side-streams is currently utilized for meal production in Malta, where PROFIUS has made a more profitable application of the meal possible than before PROFIUS started.
